The robbery took place on March 24 when the six suspects targeted a City of Newburgh man and lured him to a motel, where they accosted him, forced him into a vehicle and drove him to an ATM to steal his money before dumping him on the side of the road, said Lt. Peter Talarico.
Following an investigation, detectives arrested Israel Brown, 16, of Newburgh; Laura Harris, 20, of Ellenville; Brionna Ramos, 18, Reidavid Beliard, 23, and Kimyatta Burks, 19, all of Newburgh. A warrant has been issued for Tyler Newkirk, 21, of Newburgh.
Brown, Harris, Ramos, and Beliard were all charged with robbery, grand larceny, and unlawful imprisonment. All four were sent to Orange County Jail. Brown on $75,000 cash/$200,000 bond, Harris on $50,000 cash/$150,000 bond, Ramos on $60,000 cash,/$180,000 bond and Beliard $75,000 cash/$200,000 bond.
An indictment warrant was issued for Burks for robbery and other related charges; she has since been arrested and sent to Orange County Jail with no bail.
A warrant was also issued for Newkirk for robbery and other charges who is still being sought.
